taking the plunge

PLUNGE
16 x 16

I've been working on a series based loosely on Movement in Nature and as I worked on this piece, Plunge,  I saw the common shapes appear - ovals, vertical line patterns - shapes that were in my more structured Fall 2011 Birdsong series.

Only this time, there's more action and Plunge is my yellow lab Bella running across a field to take the plunge into the awaiting waters of a pond ahead - no dawdling, no meandering,  only pure abandon!

  1. Who could have imagined we would this day be writing on your blog with such pride and joy! We enjoy reading all you write and looking at your art work which must fill your heart as it does ours. And, Bella romping thru the field of greenery and yellow blossoms. It simply cannot get any better than this for Dad and me. [[At first blush, I thought it was "Porky" running through the field, then I saw the hair.]]

    1. Porky the pig. Great work Patty...so happy you are making the time to do what you so enjoy. The colors in the piece at the heading of your blog are gorgeous and the richness in the water based oils..Wow!

    2. Google Porky Pig and you'll be educated on the quality of cartoon we were raised with/on. Disney had an salubrious affect on a (n older) generation.
